History and Mystery
A sonic tale charting the transformation of a medieval manor into a rural retreat for wealthy industrialists, as the ever expanding city envelops the estate and the hall passes through the hands of the Taylor and Cadbury families.
Destroyed by fire in the Priestley riots of 1791, the rebuilt house still stands as Moseley Hall Hospital and a fragment of the Repton designed landscape is preserved as the Park you see today.
New roads of irreparable loss averted by nice local gentlemen
“The Travellers are in pall mall and smoke cigars so cosily,
And dream they climb the highest Alps or roam the plains of Moseley,
The world for them is nothing new;
They have explored all parts of it,
And now they are “club footed” and they sit and gaze at charts of it”
